We will be hosting a casual party at a beautiful regional park close to our hotel blocks to get the weekend started. We will be providing pizza, snacks, and non-alcoholic beverages. This will be a space for wedding guests to get to know each other, and for us to welcome everyone to Colorado.

Venue Information

We can't wait for you to join us at beautiful La Foret in Black Forest, Colorado, just a 5 minute drive from where Taylor grew up. Black Forest is a special place for us as we have traveled here every year since we started dating in 2013. We hope you enjoy this retreat in nature as much as we do.

Hotels

These are our group rate hotel blocks. They were chosen for their proximity to the wedding venue and welcome party, as well as their great views of Pikes Peak. You should be able to reach the wedding venue and welcome party location within a 15 minute drive.

We encourage you to look at hotels closer to downtown Colorado Springs if you are renting a car, staying longer, and would like to be closer to the major tourist attractions.

Staying longer? You can book nights outside the listed dates at these hotels — the group rate just won't apply to the extra nights.

FAQ

What is the dress code?

Garden party or dressy casual — we'd love for guests to look and feel comfortable! This is not an overly formal venue. Also, the ceremony is held outdoors, so keep comfortable footwear in mind.

What is the weather like in October?

Black Forest in October is quintessential fall weather. Expect mid-to-upper 60s during the afternoon ceremony and low 50s after sunset. We recommend bringing a layer for the evening. Rain is unlikely, but we have a backup plan just in case.

The ceremony is outdoors — what should I know?

The ceremony and cocktail hour take place outside near Taylor Memorial Chapel (different Taylor). We recommend comfortable shoes and a light layer you can add as the sun goes down. The reception moves indoors to Inglis Hall, so you'll be warm for the rest of the evening.

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Absolutely — feel free to take pictures throughout the day!

Is there parking at the venue?

Yes — there is plenty of parking at Inglis Hall which is a short walk from the ceremony. Signs will direct you from the parking area.

When do I need to book my hotel by?

Group rates are available until the following deadlines — Drury Hotels: August 28, 2026; Holiday Inn Express: September 10, 2026; Spring Hill Marriott: August 28, 2026. We recommend booking early as rooms are limited.

Will there be a bar?

Yes! We'll have an open beer and wine bar throughout the reception. Please note that the venue does not permit hard liquor on the premises.

Should I bring a gift to the venue?

Not necessary although we will have a box for cards and a spot for gifts. We'd prefer contributions through our online registries rather than physical gifts at the venue.

When should I RSVP by?

Please RSVP by August 20, 2026. You can RSVP using the code on your invitation on the RSVP page.

Can I bring a plus one?

Plus ones are indicated on your invitation. Please check your invitation for details, and enter your reservation code on the RSVP page to see who is included in your party.

Are children welcome?

All children invited to the wedding are listed on your invitation.

Heads up about altitude!

Black Forest sits at around 7,000 feet. If you're traveling from a lower elevation, you may feel the difference — stay hydrated, take it easy on arrival day, and go easy on the alcohol until you've had a chance to acclimatize.
